Procedures for Company Registration
In light of the New Commercial Code, approved by Decree – Law Nº 2/2005, of 27 of December, and complementary
legislation, procedures for company registration in Mozambique have been simplified.
The registration process comprises the folowing steps:
1. Company name reservation at the Conservatory of Legal Entities' Registration Office;
2. Company registration at the Conservatory of Legal Entities' Registration Office. Documents to be submitted:
a) Copy of the company name reservation certificate,
b) Company’s Articles of Association,
c) certified copies of the shareholders' identification documents or passports.
Once the registration has been concluded, the company can proceed with the fiscal registration and obtain the respective
tax registration number (NUIT) at the fiscal office of the area where the business is located, as well as the operational licenses
from the entities responsible for the area of the business activities.
Procedures to Obtain Investment Guarantees and Tax Incentives
In light of the Investment Law (Law 3/93, of 24th June) and complementary legislation, in order to obtain the Guarantees and
incentives offered by the Government the investors should submit the application form with the details of their business plan
to CPI or GAZEDA, for approval.
